High school registration starts July 29, school begins Aug. 16
At pre-registration for Chino Valley High School students, the staff will be issuing schedules, taking ID pictures and issuing school ID's, and making schedule changes only for those students that do not have schedules or have "holes" in their schedules. Students can sign up to see a counselor to make class changes. The registrar will be available to enroll new students as well.

Territorial Elementary School registration for new students to the district is available Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. All new students will need to provide their Immunization document and State Certified Birth Certificate.

At right, Del Rio Elementary School 4th-graders from Janice Dunn's class get free used books from Joan Fullmore, a volunteer from the Chino Valley Friends of the Library. Joan explained that reusing books is a good example of recycling. Joan also showed a sample of an environmentally safe cleanser she sells through her Amway business. By the way, the kids walked to the center.

Family experiences Wales while mom attends college
We arrived at Aberstywyth University in Aberstywyth, Wales on Sept.25 and will leave next September. I brought my two youngest kids with me. Puja is attending the local 'comprehensive school' - called that I think because the public schools are run more like charter schools and most have elementary, middle, and high school on the same grounds but usually in different buildings.

Del Rio Elementary teacher Janice Dunn and her daughter Zoe thank the school's 4th grade students for their $617 check donation to multiple sclerosis, for the annual bike ride fundraiser that mother and daughter will go with their tandem bicycle for the 2nd year in a row to raise money for the disease.

Del Rio, Mingus Springs students' science projects win at regional science fair
Students at Del Rio Elementary School earned 15 awards at the recent Northern Arizona Regional Science and Engineering Fair at Tri-City Prep High School in Prescott, while the students at Mingus Springs Charter School won six awards.

Del Rio Principal Susan Clark said, "This annual event keeps an important focus on science from year to year."

Paulden Community School has open enrollment for fall, provides bus transportation
Paulden Community School now has a bus that transports students to and from Chino Valley to attend the school.

In addition, the school has open enrollment registration for the next school year going on now

for grades kindergarten through sixth.

The school, a free charter school not in the Chino Valley Unified School District, is located at 24850 Naples Drive, off of Big Chino Road.
