Pitchers Branden Redfern and RJ Bell combined to blank the visiting Scorpions on Wednesday in Chino Valley.

Redfern got the win, throwing six scoreless innings with one walk and eight strikeouts. He allowed just two hits. Bell came on in relief for a scoreless seventh.

Chino led 2-0 most of the way, and then broke things open with a five-run sixth inning.

Bell also finished 3-for-4 at the plate with a double. Colby Douglas finished with two hits, three RBIs, a double and a triple. Jeremiah Moeller drove in two runs and had two hits.

As a team, the Cougars tallied 11 hits.

Chino is home again this Monday when Bradshaw Mountain heads across town for a 4 p.m. game.
